So, picking up a little from last post, here's the only 2 pictures I have from my birthday outing! So sad, Andrew hasn't sent over the group pic.

This is kow, legendary piano player.

This is yigeng trying to be a rock singer or something. But he looks way too far out. Jazz maybe.
Yah. So the next day I went for sailing training! Not to sail, nope not this time, but to be their photographer. Hired by Zenn, at zero-cost. Sigh. It's a labour of love.
... No not love for Zenn, for the club thankyouverymuch.
And I brought my own camera to possibly sacrifice okay. Was reluctant to, at first, my camera is like my life lor. What if something happened to it. But then I decided I love my sailors more so I brought it. Luckily I did, Liren didn't bring his...
Before you start marvelling at my awesome skill at taking photos while struggling to hang on to the powerboat (COACH DRIVES LIKE SUPER ULTRA FAST OKAY), this is how nice they are.

SEE! But then again I think he just loves to stare at himself.
This is the first of the lot and I think it's his favourite, 'cause it shows off his muscles lol.
And this is his teammate Liren, the real muscular one.
My ex-boyfriend.
My long-time junior. Cannot drive to save her life.
Fatty captain.
Zenn also loves this one 'cause it also shows off his muscles.
This is Zenn's girlfriend.
Slacking.
This is my first and second love getting along together. HAHA.
Hitting the water!
Vain piece of shit.
Can you see the vain one looking back?
Then I edited some to make them look nicer...

Wow okay that was a lot of work.
And then of course some not so nice ones...
Weicong fail...
Derhui fail...
Liren and Yuting fail...
TEAM FAIL OMG.
And then we got back on land...
Clearing up...
Talk to the hand...
No more hand...
Cleaning up the 420...

Sexy sailing vice-captain...

Sexy brooding look...
This looks like flag drill with the biggest flag EVER.
Ah beng face.

Just some more clearing up...

Focus of that picture. Heh.
And then we went for dinner at LJS bedok. Luckily in terms of effort for blogging, no pictures taken. Siao this has taken extremely long already...
Group photos!
DHS Sailors 2010 + Shunjie. Lol. Too bad some of them went home already.
DHS Sailors '09/'10 + Shunjie.
Yup finally that's it for that day.
K while I'm at this I'm just gonna blog all the way until NTU open house!
So on saturday I went to NTU open house real early with Sieuping. All the way to Jurong! Cannot imagine making that commute every day in future. Anyone with a good solution to recommend besides drive/live in hostel ? I'm all ears...
Anyway so we got there and didn't do much really, went to talk to the people at the booths... We pretty much knew what we wanted to ask, by that day we were already zoning in on those exact few stations. But the programme was badly made it gave the wrong gathering location for school tours! We wanted to go for a school tour of WKWSCI but kind of missed the start.
So we went off touring on our own, since we are very adventurous people!
... And we got lost. Running up and down random staircases around the backs of multiple faculty buildings and eventually ending up in the wrong one, I thought...
"This must be what it feels like to be Pacman."
But okay eventually we got to it and what do you know, we bumped into the school tour and joined in. They'd just started, and I also met Suyee. Always makes great sense seeking out people you know at open houses. Really.
After the school tour we made our way out of school to Jurong Point for lunch. After walking around and passing on LaiLai, we decided to be exotic and eat... INDIAN FOOD.
Wah I thought I was the only one who'd think of eating indian food lah. But we settled for this indian food place inside the Kopitiam. Bad idea though, food took so long to come that we were really really late for Lianpai.

Just some of the deco...

And to show you that we were the racial minority like wow.

Tandoori chicken, as part of our authentic indian food experience, which... (continued below)

Came complete with a dish whose name we can't even pronounce!

With naan.
Yup. After eating we chionged down to school, but by the time we reached everything had finished already lol basically I went to school for nothing but never mind that night I went out for dinner with my mum at Swensen's at Changi Airport.
Yeapppppppppppppp! That's life so far... More to come along soon...

First I wanna thank all the people who wished me happy birthday really, again, even though I've replied the facebook posts and smses. Thanks a lot I really appreciate everything.
So erm yah the results are out and I don't know where I'm going next. I thought I knew and actually I did know but now I don't. Open houses here I come... Don't wanna discuss results. It is a touchy subject. But I know people like to ask. When I went back for sailing training yesterday I answered the same question I think about 4-5 times. I'm basically caught somewhere in between crying about it and screaming about it. If you feel the need to know exactly then you can ask me I guess.
So nerve-wracking, the before-getting-results feeling. Went to take pay at Shuang Yuan that day and then had lunch at Yokozuna with Grace ChingHsien and Nicole. Sotong was very nice to us but too bad Wendy wasn't there anymore.
Moving on.
So the monthly food people were in enough mood for celebrations so we went to eat! On saturday. Wild Honey, at Orchard Central I believe. We didn't make reservations, so we had to wait for like, an hour. Jasvin left Jolene's number to the woman at the door who copied it down wrongly and didn't realise she was short of one digit. She went like, "I CALLED YOU!".
-.-
But ya anyway we had to wait for an hour, during which we just sat around unglamly one floor below and chatted. Seems like no one sees me sitting at a desk in a little cubicle in a dead grey building in 10 years. I don't really wanna prove that wrong. But still...

So yah anyway we finally got inside after a long long wait and like, totally difficult to decide on what to eat!

Field mushrooms! 3 kinds of mushrooms. Yummilicious.

Chicken pot pie! Looks dry and underwhelming like that right! But...

*GASP* It totally is!

My Tunisian Breakfast! Tomato stew with eggs and a very nice bread thing, cannot remember the name.

Jolene's Mexican Breakfast. Burritos.

Jasvin's Yemen Breakfast. Prata-like thing (but nicer) with an angmor tea egg. Quite funny, the egg.

Stuff on the table.

Bill. Pain!!! Especially for someone like me, OUT OF JOB!

The menu, that you have to refer to at the front while placing your order. I don't like this system.

The flowers at the counter, where you have to order yourself AND pay service charge.

So that's March food :0D
So after eating we went to... eat some more! Well you cannot blame us. Wild Honey serves breakfast food but it was lunchtime technically so we had to go find some post-breakfast food to eat to notify our stomachs that it was past breakfast time if not your tummy will be very confused you know.

PART of our snacks. Doesn't even include crispy chicken and sweet potato fritters.
Then we saw um, a certain DHS alumni whose identity I shall not disclose. And we were really bored so we decided to stalk him. We followed him out to the area opposite 313 with the pubs and little shops. And then we started kinda exploring the area ourselves. We thought all the quaint little first floor thingys were shops but, turns out some of them are residences and a woman yelled at Jasvin as she peered in.
Shocked like crazy hahahahaha we ran away and it was so funny.
We also toured the food court upstairs :0)
Then we just sat around inside and chatted somemore until it was time to go.
Moving along again.
I went down to Marina Bay MRT after that to meet up with the exotic club members! On our first trip to Marina Barrage hahaha yah we are very suaku. Anyway my phone was starting to run low on battery and when I didn't see them immediately I started to panic a little bit 'cause I was very worried I got the date wrong or something. Then if cannot contact... GG.
But thank goodness they turned up soon after.
So we took the shuttle to the barrage to meet Meixian, who was told that we were already there. Heh. I was quite amazed at the number of kites in the sky. I haven't seen so many kites in the sky in very long. I like kites with long long tails. They look flappy and happy. I don't know, but most kites look happy to me. Especially the colourful ones. Like, they're exactly where they belong and smiling down at everybody.

This was one of the kites with a shorter tail, but very colourful.

Exotic dinner of the night. Unhealthy KFC.

I still think Sieuping looks like a cave-kungfu-woman here.

I don't know what Meixian is so happy about. But the next one with her laughing hyterically is even better.

Then it started to turn dark...

If I didn't know better I'd say Meixian was trying to shit on the grass very happily.

I honesty didn't know they were behind me.

Lazy meanie.

See see! The cave-kungfu-woman is practicing her don't-know-what-stance.

They got me to go throw rubbish while they prepared my cake!

I know I look damn bad here but like, I spent the entire of last night uploading sailing photos, this afternoon editing and uploading more sailing photos, and tonight blogging. I can't be bothered to photoshop.

Then we went into the visitor centre place...

Sieuping called for exotic poses, but nobody heeded.

This is a meanie staring at you through a hole.

This is an Adeline. I think she will be the first among us to get married and settle down.

Meixian...

And me!

As usual Sieuping chooses to be the odd one out.

A sick meanie acting cute.
Then we moved out of the visitor centre over to the long long bridge! Had to walk alllllllllll the way down to the other end just to get a little pavillion for ourselves.

And this is a meanie acting emo.

Seeeeee?! Sieuping is attempting some cave-kungfu flying skill.

We had to walk all the way to the end of the bridge thing to get an empty pavillion. True, we had to "chase" the kids out but er, of course not before getting them to help us take a photo...

The first one we found too formal, so we got another one.

And then Sieuping decided the place was a club, so she started dancing...

Peek peek goes the meanie...
Yupyup. So thanks to all you guys for celebrating my birthday with me!
Monday afternoon went out with Pearie (spontaneously) for a movie to celebrate too. Went to tampines mall to meet her. Selina recommended Being Human to June. I don't know what on earth it is that June has done to Selina but it must be bad. Being Human was such a terrible show -.-
After movie we walked around a little before I had to go home and have dinner with my family at Chili's. Pictures on her blog.
On the actual day I went out with the Shuang Yuan gang to celebrate! With everyone present! Like all 10 of us including Kenneth yay! Thanks to all of you for organising.
We went to Suntec to watch Alice in Wonderland 3D. I met up with Grace and Nicole first at City Hall first I think we were on the same train. Then we walked down to Suntec together where Yigeng was already waiting. Valentia was there too. And then like the most omg thing ever, Alson was there too. Like wow. At a Shuang Yuan outing too so coincidental. Then the handsome one arrived and we were all coupled up for the movie...
It wasn't a bad show I guess, but not as fantastic as it's made out to be. Not as contemplative as I'd like it to be too. And the lovey dovey thing between the Hatter and Alice is so disgusting and off-putting.
Buffet dinner at Kuishin-Bo after that! We went in first to be joined later by ChingHsien Andrew Kenneth and Yujia! It's expensive but the food was great. Crabbbbb. Ate and ate and ate until we all got really full. I was so filled up that I had to loosen my belt about 1.5 inches.
Then we traipsed down to Esplanade and then back home finally...
Love you guys thanks!
Next day I went for sailing training with DHS sailors but that's for another post. This is already backdated a day...
SEE ALL OF YOU SOON IN OLDLAND!

An army dude is a more regular updater than me. What is the world coming to. So I decided it's about time to come blog.
Huge announcement: I LEFT SHUANGYUAN!
And so has Hongyi Yigeng Grace ChingHsien Andrew. With Shunjie and Hongyi being the only ones kind enough to have notified her way early. The rest are meanies who left abrubtly. Haha.
Don't ask me what I'm doing now. I don't know. Aside from wanting to go to NSC to be a race volunteer, I don't know what I can do now. I'm hoping to score some temp jobs here and there. Please please let me know if you have any lobang. I don't want to rot for 2 months.
Erm yeah somehow I still feel like I'm working everyday. But it's okay. The last day is really over. But I still have to go back to collect my pay and return the uniform. And have a nice dinner there. The reviewers from hungrygowhere.com gave the place fantastic reviews. Food 8.3 and Service is a spanking, whopping 9. NINE. As in N-I-N-E 9. 3 cheers for Shunjie and Hongyi.
Says Andrew (in response to my boasting abt the great service provided by us),
"Nahz if its Yigeng and me then it will be 10."
HMPH.
Well at least I've temporarily left my mark on the place in the form of my music haha. But in a way this whole leaving Shuang Yuan affair kinda scares me. I guess I've been thinking about it for quite awhile, but for it to actually happen is a whole different experience.
No, I'm not saying that leaving that place scares me, not because I no longer have a job or what. What frightens me is the way adult relations, work relations, are so... temporary. I've been holding on to this thought and pondering over it for quite awhile. People at work seem to be just... acquaintances. People you call upon when the need arises. Not the ones you look for on your off days.
Just take Shuang Yuan for example. Okay, maybe us waiters will keep in touch, but that's a different story, 'cause we're school friends and everything. And even then it's a MAYBE. But what of those 3 kitchen staff? Or even Dilys, Ruben or Soy. Almost every day for 2 months we've existed around each other, and yet it will leave no tangible mark on our lives at all. Wonder if work life will simply be like this, that you simply pack up and move on after one job, and your colleagues be reduced simply to little contacts in your phone you might call when you need help.
Adult life is scary, innit?

I. AM. REWRITING. FROM. SCRATCH.
SOMETIMES I REALLY HATE BLOGGING.
Okay I think this is like an hour later. RESTART.
Nahz I couldn't do it. This is another half a day later when I am bored with nothing to do. Oh well.
Happy CNY! But no happy Valentine's Day ya, because I am a singleton and singles are bitter angry jealous people so until I get a chance to participate, vday is an over-commercialised, garish and totally unnecessary invention. Tsk.
I don't know why I've still been too busy to write around here. I'm a part timer now but still somehow I'm occupied every day. Which is a good thing I guess. But ending up back in Bugis every single day is a bad bad thing. Horrible.
Yeah so the other day some members of the exotic club congregated to celebrate Chair(wo)man Mao's 19th. Basically that includes me, Meixian, Yuntong, Adeline, Virginia and Hui Kee. I didn't work that day, so simply because I was alone, I skipped lunch. Which made me extremely hungry by the time we met up at Tampines. Adeline was equally ravenous for some reason, so we ate up all the bread when we finally made our way to Cafe Cartel.
I think we need to come up with more innovative and more exotic ways of celebrating a birthday. We are exotic club after all. I mean, I bet Sieuping knew exactly what was gonna happen. It was the exact same modus operandi as we did for Adeline's. Jeez.

Adeline's spicy seafood pasta. Not spicy at all.

Meixian's Forest of Mushrooms. She was initially rather concerned about whether her forest actually came with pasta foliage.

A blazing reminder that we are all getting old...

Look at her reluctant face.
Thinks to self: "I don't wanna grow old. If I don't blow out the candles, can stay 18 forever not."

-claps unenthusiastically-
".. you and me are NOT friends, cake..."

-gives up and smiles- Happy birthday sieuping!
So after dinner some of us trooped up to the Tampines Mall open plaza place. Sit around and chat like juvenile delinquents. Which, speaking of, we could be, or at least Meixian might qualify, given the way she's been chasing stars like some little teenybopper. How unfitting of a near-adult. Tsk.
Oh my god I sound like a mum. Kill me. Before age does.
Well that concludes one night. Next up, squad CNY dinner!
I worked in the morning that day, and a bunch of us ended up going shopping + eating after work. The Shuang Yuan + Arirang gang haha. Truth be told I wonder what I'll be doing next after leaving Shuang Yuan. Will miss this bunch of people ba.
Anyway ya after shopping around a little we ended up back on Liang Seah Street eating desserts and snacks. Sigh. Gonna get fat. Haven't exercised this entire new year season leh. GG.
Left to meet up with AhMeng, then later we met up with TheBoss and TheBird. And subsequently the rest started to flock in. The SimeiPeople, the PyramidMan..
Half the universe was at Bugis that day, as merrily pointed out by Wynne in our interesting sms conversation. I also met Audrey and Sandra.
W: "Eh dood the whole world's in bugis! Hahaha. I just bumped into tzu hsiang and the tall sailor girl whose name i don't know."
S: "Ya i bumped into some of them too. I cannot stand it."
W: "Yeah go away and let us oldies forget our age please! I actually forgot that today's valentine's, which just proves how loser i am -_-"
S: "It isn't. It's not for another 2 days. You are a loser."
W: ".. Oh my god. Save me."
S: "Loserism is incurable."
W: "You would know."
Haha. Yeah after a significant number of people showed up we made our way to Liang Seah Eating House, where we had a table booked for the night. After ordering I went out to pick up TheShortLim, and along the way I met Zenn and all the rest!
Oh. My. Goodness. I miss my sailors and sailing so so so much. I want to sail I want to sail I want to sail I WANT TO SAIL DAMNIT. I was just looking out the window and it was really windy and sunny and I thought wow what great sailing weather I WANT TO SAILLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!
Life really sucks sometimes.
Okay back to unsucky life times. So ya after a short conversation with my lovely sailors I had to go pick up TheShortLim. And then after a little bit more waiting we tucked in to squad reunion dinner!

I think rice got a very heartwarming feel. Damn all those stupid commercials.

Some of our food.

And more food!

Then we decided to take a photo with our food. The waitress there quite cool sia, still got take candid shot one.

Our Best For All!

Our spread!

This is proof of how much we love cereal prawn. Ok lah it's just me. I polished off all the cerealy goodness.

Yumminess. All in our tummies now.

Full and satisfied.

Elvineh looks like a gangster.

Stuffed faces.
Haha after dinner we made our way next door to Ji De Chi to have dessert. They didn't have enough space so the zichar place guy was nice enough to let us have some outside tables to eat dessert. Yay.
After dessert we made our way to Iluma to talk.Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh. We don't meet up often but lurbe lurbe it when we do. Too bad we were constrained by the limits of public transport, so soon we had to make our way home...
CNY was rather uneventful, nothing much to blog.
Have a great CNY everyone!

I WENT TO SENTOSA TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL ON T
Even though we left too fast and I'm still itching for more, I must blog about it!
So yigeng and I worked Monday together and we got very excited together. Hehe. Sorry we no life. It was the only thing we had to look forward to.
Tuesday morning I got a ride from yigeng's dad to go straight in to Sentosa together since his daddy was driving in anyway. Jerome and Thaddeus were supposed to join us but they found more joy in sleep than in friends, so they slept. Listening to the conversation on the car and seeing the stuff in it makes me feel like bobo is some millionaire.
But ya. So we got there before everyone else then we started snapping photos first like we're some camwhores, even though we really are not.

This is yigeng's epic self slap photo. I don't know what's wrong with him really.

And me! I don't know what the japanese words mean, if you're going to ask.

Quanyi says this photo looks gay. Grace says we should get married. Hehe.

More of the happy couple.
Ya and then chingsiang arrived and these 2 random guys asked us if we would play together with them. Omg man. We're like total noobs and got thrashed. I think they must have been quite bored playing with us.
While we were playing with them the rest of the bunch arrived too and they played in the court that was booked by the national team. But it started to get hot quite soon so we hit the water after we finished playing with the random guys.
Shiokness man. But we came back up to play volleyball again. And we went in again. Haha.

This is after the first water session.

Then jerome and blackie arrived.

Sexy Sebas. He refused to let me post stuff onto facebook for reasons undisclosed, but blog is fine muahaha.

The stupid blackie who forgot to bring underwear.

Don't you think I'm getting better at photoshop.

Bobo looks like he's having too much fun.

Come on everybody let's do the blackie stretch!

Another bobo + shunjie.

Making guys soup.

We found this really rare coral.... NOT. It is chingsiang's head.

They made me go ask some angmors to help take our photo. By the time I turned around everybody had already rushed to put their clothes back on. Then when the angmor took the photo she was like, 1....................... -10 years passes by- ........., 2....................... and we wondering when she's finally gonna take the photo then we realsed 1 is 1 photo and 2 is a second one alr. Haha.
Yah then we went to bathe and headed out to Settler's at SMU. Everyone was really hungry. Lucky the food is nuhbad at Settler's.
On the way out of Sentosa.

Check out the Merv.

And the jies'.
So... I took a few more photos at Settler's, all while I was busy losing my ass off at everything. They always bully me! I lost at one game of sitting ducks like super fast then Mervyn had to leave so he let me play and then they killed me off again! They suck!

Then next we went over to Aston's at The Cathay for dinner.

I kill you! Haha lucky Andrew taught me some self-defence techniques today.

Wonder what in the sky caught Quanyi's attention.

Yah. After dinner those of us who didn't wanna catch a movie walked over to bugis (idea courtesy of bobo) to take mrt home so we could avoid incurring high travel costs.
The end. Yay! Another post... More coming up now that I'm part time!
- Mood:

In another window I have pictures being uploaded and er oh no time says it's about time to go bathe. ARGH. Never mind let's see how much I can do.
So most of you probably already know I work at Shuang Yuan along Liang Seah Street. Come visit the shop! Everyone who comes to eat and happens to see me and tells me you found out about the place from my blog...
WILL GET A VERY BRIGHT AND CHEERY SMILE FROM ME.
But ya. Every night we stand outside the shop to greet the people walking by and offer help to interested people, and we smell the barbeque coming from next door. FYI, we happen to be situated next to a korean bbq buffet. Urgh. Torture, especially when you're hungry. So one day, we decided to go have dinner there, and conveniently also celebrate Hongyi's birthday.

The appetizers weren't very appetizing.

So much food!

Meat.
Strangely, no people shots.
The hilarity that ensued because of the prawns we were all too lazy to eat is indescribably funny.
Well. That's one craving satisfied but to be honest, the food smells way better than it tastes. Taste is only so-so. But at least now I know that, and I don't salivate as much while smelling it at night.
We went over to Shuang Yuan for awhile after that.
Oh oh I passed my BTT that day too.
Okay okay next event.
----------------RANDOM DINNER----------------
(stopped here once at 0936hrs on 27/01 to go bathe. GRR)
(Okay back again 2 days later.)
So Jasvin Jolene Quanyi Weiliang and I randomly decided to meet up for dinner one day. We ended up going to Spageddies at Bedok where BK used to be. Saw a film crew filming some channel 8 drama.
But before dinner Weiliang and I met up to go to the pool first since he's enlisting very soon and can't swim. I cannot for the life of me understand how he can be not panicking at this point in time when he still cannot swim.
But anyway. After swimming we had some time so we walked over to Bugis (OMG I CANNOT SEEM TO ESCAPE THIS PLACE)

This is the kukubird who still cannot swim one week prior to enlistment. I think that's just as amazing as the exhibitions.
Ya and then we went down to Bedok for dinner. Food shots!

The thing on the right is a teacher. Can you believe it.

This thing is a model.

Jolene's meat sauce ravioli thingy.

My cannolini!

Weiliang's noob food.
Okay I've decided to just post since the rest of the photos aren't even hosted anywhere yet. ROAR.
Work is consuming my life. I better see the schedule for next week today!

No pictures also, 'cause I never take pics of the place. I will soon, help to advertise!
Yah. Driving BTT later! Only studied for it today.
Listening to some songs with nice MTVs lately...
Yah life is quite empty recently.

One year ago I set some resolutions...
FLASHBACK!
... -dreamy harp music plays and vision ripples and blurs and eventually sharpens again to the below-
So what's in store for 2009? Well resolutions look like this...
- I must really WORK HARD, bearing in mind a hell lot depends on it, making efficient use of my time.
- Keep FIT (enough) and be HEALTHY!
- Stop spending money loose-handedly and instead SAVE it.
- Take note of the little things and APPRECIATE.
- Be a better FRIEND (except to thaddeus, who will now say "FUCK YOU").
- Spend LESS time SLEEPING, MORE time being PRODUCTIVE.
- TRY VERY HARD TO KEEP ALL THE RESOLUTIONS.
... -image spins out of control and return to reality-
End of flashback.
Well. NOT BAD LAH 2009. Kept to most of them. 3, especially. Last year really very free eh, still got time to happily highlight main point -.-
I'm not going to set any resolutions this year! Mainly because I have no idea what's in store ahead and so I'm just gonna wing it and hope for the best. OUR BEST FOR ALL can already.
And yah lah I'm damn lazy.
Ok so my new year's eve was PRODUCTIVE TO THE MAX. I went out with Bobo and met him early in the morning to go JOBHUNTING. If he didn't pressure me I might never have gotten off my ass to find work. So we met up at Bedok Library cafe since he heard they were hiring. I thought I was gonna be late so I rushed like mad and was sweating like crazy when I got there and then he called me to say he just left, or something.
Library cafe was hiring, but the pay is quite pathetic so we decided to look for something else instead. Sat around and smsed and called through all the suitable stuff we found in the 4 days worth of Classifieds that I brought. Some were for tutors. Some people replied and some didn't. Eventually I found one that I really liked, it was an ad asking for CAMP FACILS. Like totally my thing right! So called up and they told us to go down to Purvis Street.
Eventually we did make our way down to Purvis Steet, but spent like an hour looking for it. Zz. They weren't keen on us as camp facils, so erm long story short, we are now waiters -.- But at least we're employed!
Through with frictional unemployment in 4 hours!
Yeah then went home to slack and come out again for New Year's countdown with Weicong.
We went to Marina Square for dinner where I TOTALLY messed up his orders. I think it might be a sign that I can't be a waiter.

Quite chio, the lights.

My mysterious date of the night.

Act shy nia
So we ate for damn long before making our way to Suntec for a short while, back to Marina upstairs, then down to the outside area to wait for fireworks. It's mad! I knew it'd be crowded (and hence actually didn't really wanna countdown outside) but still I didn't expect it to be THAT crowded. No space to breathe lah. Seriously thank goodness I'm not a hot girl, I think I would have been groped a million times.
... Shut up I was not groping people.
Tried to send out sms earlier so it'd get out in time but my phone wasn't cooperating with me so I decided to just send out all my messages at like 1+. Only a few managed to go out early.
Yeah so watch fireworks lor. Well fireworks are always nice to watch what! Initially wasn't planning on taking photographs since my cam's too noob but I thought I'd try about 1-2 minutes into the display.
Well, I got like, ONE nice photo. Haha.

This one is nice!

It's very difficult to get a good fireworks picture on a noob camera okay! You have to open the shutter before the fireworks explode, so there's quite a bit of guesswork and estimation involved. I took a few more but those are like -.-
And,

First photo of me in 2010!
Heh. We were totally clad in 情侣装. Colours-wise anyway. Must have looked damn gay. Well anyway after the fireworks we made our way to a little clearing on the grass and had some drinks. Oh no I am so going the way of a June first thing of 2010.
Drank... enough to get me reddened up (which isn't saying much) but okay when I finally got home my sis could smell alcohol off me from a few metres away.
So I'm just enjoying the little remnants of my freedom until work starts (and it starts before school does, SUCKS).
Happy new year everybody!

Nothing much besides little mundane things like going to Pat's house to play some mahjong and going to Ziren's house (again) for class outing. I'm such a regular at Ziren's place I might as well be one of his furniture. A small bunch of us met up for lunch first, with "us" being Me Jasvin Yuxuan Yingying Sihong. Ate at Mad Jack's. They did not have my Tiramisu. Sigh. And we eventually passed on dessert altogether.

I saw this car first thing after leaving my block. The poor guy!

Baked rice. Om nom nom.

More baked rice.

OOOOOOOOOH FISHY FISHY FISHY!

You have to move very fast to get a shot of Jasvin's food before she get's to it. Meanwhile most of you will be relieved to know that she seems to have grown some meat back again.

Chicken!

Ivan just feels the need to engage in some rough-and-tumble with Ziren, to whom he will eventually lose.
Yeah/ Dinner and a movie and home we went.
Night cycling + pool with Weicong on one of the days. Stupid kuku Pitstop is so in need of a proper website lah. Had to rush down to rent 2 bikes only to realise that they opened one hour later than I thought they would. And she made me return the bikes to the same Pitstop when I suspect you can return it at any one. Never mind it was cheap. 8 bucks for a whole night! Can't say the same about pool though. It costs more for one hour than the bikes for 12. We had to keep circling the same stupid place 'cause we didn't really know where to go. And had no idea where all the supper places were. Therefore we (pathetically) ended up at Macs and subsequently in Tampines for prata breakfast.
Didn't catch much sleep after night cycling before going for Chestnuts Does Christmas! Freaking fantastic, I love Chestnuts! I'm going to catch every one I can. Was at Jubilee Hall Raffles Hotel, and went with Jasvin Weiliang Jolene Quanyi. I was pondering about what to wear, and was slightly worried I would overdress but then I remembered that you cannot beat Quanyi at that so I felt very safe and secure.

The clouds look really solid too. Like they're made of clay, with dirty flat bottoms. Everything looks solid today. You know how some days you feel like the world's made of jelly and you can run through everything? Not one of those days. I feel like the sound coming out of the radio could hit me on the head and kill me today.
The wind blows. The leaves of the trees rustle in the gust, like they're flagging for attention to be drawn back down to Earth.
The air smells of rain and dust.
Somehow the plastic noises coming from outside remind me of the trees. The mum's in a packing frenzy, now that she's on holiday. Some break.
Sometimes I look at the way she simply needs to throw stuff out and get everything organized and I wonder if we're actually related. Then I look around at my sis. Maybe we're adopted. Both of us.
Oh the sun's come out now. I could go on describing the weather forever, but I think the shower's calling out to me.
Haven't bathed in... Well I don't think you wanna know. And it's not like I've been out. Let's just leave it there.

But you can't blame me for hating Thaddeus right now.
OMG WHAT THE PLASTICPEANUTDRAWERS!
It is only overrated to people who get to go there right?!
I also bloody wanna go to overrated EUROPE?! If I weren't stuck on this wet rainy island...
SIGH............ But well.
1. No have
Well it makes the world go round so what can we do?
2. No have
SIGH. Who would've thought I'd still be saying this AFTER the bloody A fucking Levels.
3. AND VERY IMPORTANTLY,
NO ONE TO GO WITH.
Well technically, strictly speaking, I do have enough of 1 and 2 for a short nearby holiday, but my 3's in the form of family don't have enough 2's and my friends have no 1's. And since I don't have 1, 2 and 3, I am marooned on this little rock for the next 4 months, after which I will spend most of my time on another smaller rock, for better or for worse.
Nothing much has happened since prom, and that includes exercise (which basically also hasn't happened). Time to restart those engines.
Well. Since I might as well be welded onto this enormous sandpit, I decided to go out to Chinatown with the MOMMIEE yesterday.
FYI, I think kids who just don't go out with their parents at all are horrible lowly life forms. It disgusts me to the max how some kids will trail light years behind their family when they're out. HELLO?! Parents also have feeling one okay. I wonder what it's like to get to the age when your own children don't want you anymore. Ultimate sadness.
Anyway, like I was saying, I went to Chinatown with the Mom, and admittedly I was a little bored so I started to snap snap away. No, not at myself. At other stuff. I think my mum doesn't know I'm a camwhore. Haha. I know, I go off on a tangent about being filial and MY MUM DOESN'T KNOW I'M A CAMWHORE.
Speaking of whores, saw some real ones in Chinatown. Saw an old guy with 2 in tow at the hawker centre. Wow. Fucking old man (no pun intended) having more fun than I ever might. Haha.
So I started to snap snap around the moment we left the MRT station, whilst making sure I get some shots for CVA too. Most were taken in the temple.
This photo makes me wish I had a better camera to capture the way you get the new buildings mapped right smack in the middle of the old.
These are the doors to the temple. There are 9x7 huge "nails" on the door. Which really confused me. For those of you who don't know, 9 is the number of the emperor and in olden days, the number of "nails" you could have on your door was a symbol of your status. The emperor had 9x9, you can go count those on the doors to the Forbidden City. If I remember correctly, the only other person who was allowed to have 9 in his door-nail configuration is the guy who stands in the 正心园 today. He was supposed to have 9x7. So i really don't know why this temple also has 9x7. Strange.
Anyway in retrospect I think in this shot it looks like a row of boobs, no offense to any religious/cultural thing.

My mum took a fleeting glance at what I was photographing and asked me,
"Eh, why got watermelon one?"
... LOL.

Sparkly! Like an Edward Cullen. I bet you see it so differently now.

Haha. This kind of dessert isn't my usual cup of tea. But still...
Okay so I acted like a tourist for one afternoon and that's the closest I'm getting to inching my way out of this place.
Well next I went for tuition this morning. And as usual, we were carrying some casual conversation over the hum of very boring mathematics work.
Boy: "Have you watched New Moon?"
Me: "Eee."
"What? Nice what!"
"WHAAAAAAT?!"
"Not nice meh? You don't have friends who watch meh??"
"No, I don't make friends with that kind of people."
Haha. I feel like I've failed as an educator. Especially as a self-professed film enthusiast! How can I let him be consumed by such thrash? The film AND the stupid books.
Well no one seems to gives a damn that the plot is downright retarded, 'cause you know, there are vampires that are all SPARKLY, and smell nice and everything. And really, really, really hot werewolves. Seriously. That Jacob is hot, I give the fans that.
Been waking up at like 11-12 these few days. Maybe I should sleep earlier tonight since I gotta climb out of bed earlier to pass Xingqi all my unused stuff and notes! I wonder how much money I'm missing out on by just giving the notes away. But if karma really exists... then the marginal benefit will outweigh marginal cost and by the marginalist's principle I'm being a rational economic agent.
I don't know why I'm updating people about such mundane little things. Time to go off, it seems. See you guys!
p/s: Happy Squad Day you guys!
